The Distinguished Service Award
This award is given to an individual who has made outstanding
contributions to the AASCIN. These contributions have a national impact on
SCI nursing practice. Historically, this award recognizes the
distinguished service of James J. Peters, a founder of the AASCIN and
Susan Brady, MSN, RN, first president of the AASCIN.
Criteria
The nominee must:
- Demonstrate outstanding contributions to SCI nursing practice
- Contribute significantly to national activities related to SCI
health care
- Contribute significantly to the growth and function of the AASCIN
- Demonstrate dedication in achieving excellence in the healthcare of
persons with SCI.
The Membership Committee reviews and rates all nominations and submits
its recommendations to the Board of Directors for confirmation. The awards are presented during the Annual Conference. The nominee(s)
selected will receive a grant and per diem to attend the Annual
conference. If the selected nominee is unable to attend, the presentation
will be made in absentia.
