The American Association of Spinal
Cord Injury Nurses (AASCIN) announces a Call for Papers and Posters for its
Annual Conference. We invite you to submit abstracts that address the major
theme of the conference. The intent of the conference is to create an
environment for nurses to develop informal professional networking, discuss
issues generated by a rapidly changing health care system, and share strategies
for influencing those changes through nursing practice.
Suggested topics for presentation include nursing research, technology
affecting the care of individuals with spinal cord impairment (SCI),
competencybased practice, clinical advances in SCI care, aging with SCI,
expanded roles and interdisciplinary teams in health promotion and disease
prevention, outcomes of care, standards of practice, socioeconomic impact of
disability and resource allocation, innovative nursing care systems used in SCI
practice, pediatric SCI, leadership, creative resource management, stress in the
workplace, critical/clinical pathways, product line management, and conflict
management. You are encouraged to prepare a scholarly submission that
demonstrates methods of promoting quality outcomes through innovative SCI
nursing practice.
